In Term 3, we will be conducting annual testing for all Year 7 students (and new Year 8 students), during the normal school day. The Testing Day is an opportunity to mix with current and new Middle School students and participate in afternoon activities together. Following the school day, Boarding students are invited into the Boarding House after school and for dinner, whilst their parents attend the Parent Information Evening.
The data gathered will provide the College with vital information that will help identify individual strengths and weaknesses, allowing us to better cater for the needs of your child. It is important to note that these are not ‘placement tests’ and have no impact on enrolment. The morning will comprise of testing for general reasoning, numeracy as well as literacy skills and finishes with breaks for morning tea as well as lunch. The afternoon will be time for students to get to know each other as well as key staff.
While the data collected on the testing day is extremely important, it is most beneficial when used in conjunction with other forms of information to help us gain a broader picture of academic progress. If you have not already done so, please send us any recent school reports, NAPLAN and any specialist reports you may have.
