WESTalks: How to thrive at school
You’re listening to WES Talks, the podcast! Each month a valuable insight in to the mindset of the educators of today and tomorrow.
This month host James Lush is joined by Darcy Roden (Year 12), Tom Goodheart (09-15) and Conor McLaughlin (10-15) to discuss how to thrive at school.
Darcy Roden is the 2017 College Captain, and is planning on studying a double degree – Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics or Finance – at Curtin University in 2018.
Tom Goodheart was Wesley’s College Captain in 2015. Tom is currently studying Management and Marketing at UWA, and has a long-term goal of becoming a headmaster. In his spare time he enjoys coaching the 9A’s in hockey at Wesley.
Conor McLaughlin was the Fogarty Foundation Scholarship Winner in 2016. Conor is aiming to become a doctor specialising in emergency medicine and would like to get involved with ‘Doctors without Borders.’ He has been back to Wesley already this year to encourage students to apply for the scholarship, imparting these words of wisdom – ‘excellence is not just defined by your academic results but also your commitment to causes you are passionate about, whether that be sport, the arts or service to the community.’
