We’re pleased to celebrate the Class of 2024 and their outstanding performance across a range of pathways.
This year, our median ATAR stands at 89.30, the second-highest Wesley result in the modern era (TER/ATAR 2003 onwards). This score reflects hours of effort, dedication, and perseverance and we are immensely proud of the students’ accomplishments.
95.4% of our ATAR students scored 70+, our best result ever and a testament to the counselling and support provided.
Several students reached impressive milestones, with two achieving an ATAR of 99 or above, placing them among the top 1% in Western Australia.
Here are the results in full:
- 89.30 Wesley median ATAR
- 14 students (21.5% of ATAR candidates) obtained an ATAR 95+ (Top 5% in WA)
- 30 students (46.2% of ATAR candidates) obtained an ATAR 90+ (Top 10% in WA)
- 50 students (76.9% of ATAR candidates) obtained an ATAR 80+ (Top 20% in WA)
- 62 students (95.4% of ATAR candidates) obtained an ATAR 70+ (Top 30% in WA)
Naturally, ATAR isn’t the only option available to students. This year, 23 students sought university access through enabling programs, while 27 others found their path through Vocational Education and Training (VET). These programs underscore our belief that each student’s journey is individual, and our role is to help them find their purpose – on a path that excites and inspires them.
Another thing we recognise at Wesley is that test results are just one measure among many. They capture only a sliver of a person’s potential. Beyond the numbers, our students have learnt to work collaboratively, lead with empathy, persevere through challenges, and lift one another up in a spirit of shared success.
This year, the achievements of our students have gone well beyond classrooms and examination scores. We’re continuously proud of their efforts to enrich the lives of those around them. There’s no shortage of examples from 2024:
- Movember’s moustache efforts raised $25,000
- World’s Greatest Shave – raised $87,054
- Service hours this year – 3327 hours
- Did 179,862 push-ups to raise $11,774
- 80 students have been involved in the river and beach clean-ups in 2024
- Bike Rescue restored and donated more than 170 bikes
- City to Surf: Highest Fundraising School Team
- SRC raised over $2,500 for various charities through their SRC Days
- Over 150 books donated to Children’s Literacy
Beyond the academic subjects our students also take part in a wide range of pursuits – from the athletic to the artistic – equipping them with skills and values they will carry well into their futures. Attributes that simply can’t be measured by ATAR testing.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024. We look forward to seeing what you will accomplish next!
