Wesley in the news!

Wesley College has been delighted to be mentioned in two newspapers this week.

The Sunday Times took a look at the way teaching is evolving. Wesley was highlighted as an example of how innovative schools are rethinking their education to equip students for professions that don’t exist yet.

In the words of Headmaster, Mr Ross Barron: “Absolutely none of us knows what the jobs of tomorrow will be, but we’re doing everything we can to ensure we have future-proofed our students so Perth can be at the innovation forefront in the future.”

The article underlined this proactive approach by making reference to our Clive Hamer Wing, which was described as: “a state-of-the-art technology hub, complete with virtual reality gear, laser-cutting machine and 3-D printer.”

The second piece of coverage was in the Southern Gazette. The newspaper spoke to recent Wesley College graduate Connor Mincherton (13-18) to ask what advice he would give to students starting Year 12. As someone awarded a Certificate of Excellence for being in the top 0.5 percent in his Physical Education ATAR course examination, he had plenty of wise words.
