Wesley College has continued to build upon its renewed focus on academic excellence with an impressive 88.55 median ATAR in this year’s results.

The Class of 2021’s median ATAR of 88.55 is 6.8 above the State’s median, with seven of the College’s students achieving an ATAR of 99 or above.

In a letter to parents, Head of Wesley College, Mr Ross Barron, said: “We are so proud of the countless examples of students who have exceeded expectations through sheer hard work and commitment. The success of our Academic Afternoons and Evenings programs is a testament to these results.”

He added: “I would like to once again publicly acknowledge the whole teaching staff, from PK to Year 12, who go above and beyond to get the best from their students. An immeasurable amount of support and mentorship has occurred in the partnership between the boys, families and staff.

“Nothing is more important than preparing our young people for successful, meaningful futures. Whether it is through a VET program, ATAR, WAAPA or apprenticeship pathway. It is at the core of our mission. It is the reason we are here.

“No matter what academic journey a student takes, they each have a success story to share and we are proud of everyone.”

85% of students earned an ATAR of 70 or above, including 46% who achieved an ATAR of 90+, placing them in the top 10% of the State. There are countless stories of students who have gone above and beyond. However, the seven newest members of our ‘99% Club’ deserve a special mention:

  • Evangelos Hajigabriel – 99.90
  • Peter Bruce
  • Timothy Holt
  • Christopher Jongue
  • Theodore Kang
  • Kelton Rothnie
  • Samuel White
