Centred on the Head of College’s belief that personal excellence is at the core of everything we do at Wesley, the Daring Conversations series is a winning formula of compelling stories and incredible minds.

In a relaxed interview format with Head of College, Ross Barron, guests discuss challenging moments in their lives and share the grit that brought them through.

These conversations are invariably illuminating, insightful and – above all – inspirational.

Guests so far have included:

  • Dr Craig Challen SC OAM, who risked his life to save 12 boys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand. He discussed what happened behind the scenes and the difficult decisions that had to be made when rescuing everyone seemed impossible.

  • Rabia Siddique, the history-making humanitarian who took on the UK Ministry of Defence for discrimination after it failed to acknowledge the role she played in the rescue of two captured Special Forces soldiers in war-torn Iraq. A rescue in which she herself was taken hostage.

  • Frauke Bolten-Boshammer, who shared a tale of resilience, hope and pure determination, telling us how she overcame the tragic suicide of her husband to pioneer a diamond empire in the Kimberley.

All proceeds from the Daring Conversations series go to the guest’s charity of choice.
