It’s World Teachers’ Day

Posted October 5, 2021 in Opinion By Community Relations

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate teachers around the globe. It is a tremendous opportunity to acknowledge the effort, support, and care they put into helping our children discover their passions.

The date was chosen because it commemorates the adoption of the  1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, a document that formally outlined the rights and responsibilities of teachers around the world.

At Wesley, we believe our teachers are exceptional. To quote the Head of Wesley College, Mr Ross Barrron: “I believe it would be difficult to find a more caring and committed group of teachers. They are ‘all in’ to ensure the welfare and success of the children.”
