On Thursday 6 March, Old Collegian, Brett Stanford (01-05) from How Ridiculous and Head of College, Ross Barron officially broke ground in the most Wesley way possible for The Centenary Building Project.
From a 40m high crane, a giant, 330kg steel, green hand was dropped onto the tennis courts. A very fitting way to celebrate the start of Wesley’s most ambitious and daring project in our 100 plus year history.
Students from the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools and of course, our very own Wes the Wyvern helped paint the giant hand before it took the great plunge.
The Centenary Building Project is a world-class sports and community precinct like no other in the state. It includes four multi-sports indoor courts, outdoor tennis courts, a space to gather as a whole College (seating for 1,800), classrooms, a Teaching (Food Science) Kitchen, high performance sports facility, Parents’ & Friends’ Association Events and Reception Centre, OWCA Hall of Excellence and more!
A huge thank you to Brett Stanford (01-05) and his team for helping us bring this ‘daring’ idea to life!
The Centenary Building Project construction will commence at the end of March 2025.
