The Transition To Boarding
Starting boarding is a significant change for students and families. The best programs do not leave that transition to chance. Look for clear onboarding, early communication, familiar faces and staff who are visible, consistent and easy to contact.
At Wesley, our Headstart program helps new students feel more prepared before they arrive. This free online course introduces students to the College and provides support in English and Maths, helping them walk into class on day one with greater confidence.
Taking A Tour
A tour is less about inspecting a building and more about imagining your child’s day. Where will they wake up, study, eat, relax, make friends and find quiet when they need it? The most useful tours help families understand the rhythm of boarding, not just the facilities.
It is also important to involve your child in the decision. After the tour, ask what felt comfortable, what surprised them and what they would want to know more about.
To help with that conversation, we asked our boarders to share what they love about boarding. You can read their answers here.
Discover Wesley
If boarding at Wesley feels like the right next step for your family, a tour is the best way to see how we do things.
We offer group tours and personalised tours throughout the year, giving families the chance to visit our Boarding House, meet staff and ask questions about daily life at the College. We even have a virtual tour to give you a sneak peek before you get here!
