Making an effort to put others first is an important component of a community and a vital part of the co-curricular program. A community oriented approach incorporates taking the time to listen to others and respecting their opinions, assisting those in need and involvement in activities that benefit the community. Often the efforts of students are intrinsically rewarded, in addition to learning new skills and gaining confidence when communicating with adults. Only a small component of the Community Service program is associated with fundraising. Home based activities, Meals on Wheels, Soup Kitchen and volunteer work at the Perth Zoo are just some of the activities that are available to students.
