Fireman Sam may not have been there, but the Kensington Fire Brigade still managed to put on a great show for the Year Threes at Wesley College last week.

Anyone with happy memories of the perennial UK children's television show would have loved the firies' visit to educate the children about fire safety. Year 3 teacher Liz Waddell said the students were given a demonstration of the 'Jaws of Life' and allowed to climb into the fire truck. She said other highlights were seeing the firemen's protective clothing and the different parts of the fire truck.

"They also reminded students to always know their address and phone number in case of emergency," Ms Waddell said.
